Recent Ar-lo response to HT in the "what would you do thread"?
Skuzzy recently told me if I had arguments about BBS moderation, he was more than happy to have me use the report function. I told him there was no "report" function for his hypocritical moderation. I did however take him up on his offer today for the first time and reported Ar-lo for this post. See, I'm all for a completely free bbs, even this type of talk, yet everyone ELSE gets punished for it, while Ar-lo skates due to being head cheerleader.
I sent this to Skuzzy:
"I'm happy to know that once I identify myself to all at HTC that I'm Jewish, I can happily now make all the Jewish jokes I like without fear of reprisal from yourself or HT in the form of moderation or suspension/png. Since HT was involved in this conversation with AR-lo, it's impossible for you to not have seen this post, and it goes on un-moderated. ALl I can take from that is that it's acceptable behavior. See, I received my only suspension, for one week, for cut/pasting information from Toronto's newspaper about Somali gun violence statistics. What if I was to tell you I have a Somali person in my direct family? Do I get a retroactive pass now, since the old "but I have lots of black/jewish/etc friends, or I'm married to one" seems to have worked its magic here." The subjective application of the bbs rules marches on..."
See, I honestly don't think it's a big deal what AR-lo said, but I do know that in the past HTC has come down with bans and PNGs for similar type racial joking. Where is the across the board fairness and impartiality with moderation when cheerleader fuck face can get a walk, while anyone else, especially HTC critics would get the ban hammer for the same thing? Fucking ridiculous. As usual.

Personally, I have NO problem with what he said - none. I'm all for a free for all on the bbs like the days of old. What I DO have a problem with is that others have been punished with either moderation of their posts or suspensions for bringing up race, it's specifically mentioned in the rules. Again, why should the fact that he has a Jewish wife allow him to make racial jokes. The old "I can say the N word because I'm black" excuse, or "I can make Jewish jokes because I am Jewish". Are you saying that's ok now, making racial jokes and references, so long as it's about yourself, or you have a close relation that happens to be the race in question? And what exactly is "good taste", there is nothing more subjective than that.
Example - what if I was to make a post like "Wow Skyyr, the way you use E and never turn in fights is sure a Jewish way to fight", Jewish being a synonym for "cheap", and then added then added later the disclaimer that "hey, my wife is Jewish, and she came up with that watching us duel". Under the current rules and moderation in the last 10+years, I think it's a pretty certain thing that if you saw the first sentence without the last, it would be instant suspension for anyone else. Again, why does the fact that one happens to be married to, or even be themselves, part of a racial group excuse a racial joke under the current rules and how they've been applied? It sure didn't in my case, and I"m sure in many others. And I never made a joke about it, merely pointed out an article and pasted the data which said how many Somalians had been involved in shootings. You plainly stated in your PM to me that ANY racial discussion was cause for suspension, which I received. So, if I was Somalian, or had a Somalian wife, according to what you just said, since it was about ME, me being a part of that group, it should somehow get me a pass on that rule? Ridiculous.
Or, better yet, since Stupid Picture Posting Motherfucker was referring to himself, what if I was to post "I sure flew like a Jew in that fight, and waited for a chance to cheaply pick you". Since I have an x and current wife that are both Jewish, can I use the same excuse in the future as he did?

The Stupid Picture Posting Motherfucker/Jewish post is still there. Nice huh. I guess if I make a post such as "I was going to turn fight you there, but decided to be Jewish and just rope you" shouldn't result in any suspension or moderation by this rationale. Ridiculous, it's just their favorite son Stupid Picture Posting Motherfucker, head cheerleader, is immune from the rules that others they decide to target aren't. I think this is also relevant to the current Flucrum/Peppr thread, if Pepprr was some woman who was a newer player, or NOT a member of HTC's most hated squad, he would have been suspended, or kicked out of the game, especially for his constant PM harassment, but, since it involves their strongest critics, the Mups, HTC just stands pat and doesn't bother applying their rules, which again, is very inconsistent and typical of them.

You can be as racist and cruel as you want so long as you add the "it's ok I'm ______" at the end of it. Just like when you say something like "You're so ugly. You're the ugliest motherfucker I have ever seen and you will amount to nothing in your life... JK LOL!" You see, it's the 'JK LOL' that makes it ok

A historic first. I've been exchanging emails with Skuzzy, regarding AR-lo's bbs immunity. I went through the last 100 pages of his posts, not 100 posts, pages of posts - not a single case of moderation. Interesting considering when you look at the posts in detail, others surrounding his posts are edited like machine gun fire. Very obvious case of rules not applying to him. He recently said that somebody was posting like "they had a blood transfusion from Vraciu". While I agree with that, had anyone here, or myself had said that - boom, instead mod, probably suspension, possible PNG. Ar-lo though - nothing. I of course pointed this one out, again, to Skuzzy et al. Low and behold, for the first time ever, an Stupid Picture Posting Motherfucker post is moderated. bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,366290.90.html Ar-lo must be weeping his eyes out, now that HTC has pandered to the obvious, and given him a dose of his own medicine. In all likelyhood it's just a one time thing, in order to prove that they don't show him and his ilk favoritism, but I'll take what I can get, as it's very humorous to me to see him finally get a post deleted. |
