I haven't torrented since ISOhunt got shut down but I must see Sicario. Anyone got any sites they like?

TorrentDay, but it's invite only. I'll have a few more invites in a week or two, I'll send you one then, it comes with 250gigs worth of free ratio (you have to maintain an up/down ratio, but they only cut you off at 0.20, so 250 gigs is really a couple terrabytes, I still haven't run out in 2 years now, and never upload, haha).
I'd use a VPN if I were you as well, Astrill and others are only 5 bucks a month, and make the odds of you getting pinched by your ISP or any of the other forces at work very slim. You probably know this already, but if you've not been using torrents since the ISOHunt (Canadian, yay!) days, many ISPs now closely monitor for it, and send you nasty emails and can even throttle your ass if they catch you.

I use kickass.to and piratebay.gd (they are constantly changing domains). Is the VPN thing really worthwhile? $5-6 a month doesn't seem bad at all. |

Both Kickass and Pirate bay are free/unprivate, I still use them from time to time, but they don't hold a candle to the private sites like TorrentDay and many others. I got 10 to 11 mbyte/sec d/l speeds for TorrentDay, and they usually get stuff a day or so earlier (no big deal really, as the free torrent sites like Kickass/Pirate/ISOhunt before/etc get them pretty quickly). There is just more quality selection, especially for books/epubs, if you're a reader. Honestly though, the newsgroups are the absolute best way to go for torrent-ish like material, by FAR, some don't like using sickbeard and all that, it's a somewhat more complicated process using newsgroups, but they always, ALWAYS get the best stuff and get it first. A good tutorial for usenet here - www.codecguide.com/usenet_tutorial.htm It isn't free though, one downside, but it's extremely cheap. So far as using a VPN, it's advantages are that it's almost impossible for your ISP or anyone else to "catch" you using torrents. Like I said, many ISPs are cracking down, google it, even here in Canada where we have slightly less worries due to our laws, many ISPS including both of mine are actively punishing torrent users by throttling or threatening letters, or both. Also with a VPN you can view NEtflix in about 2 dozen other countries, making it far, far better for the $, so many more programs than just the USA/Canada Netflix are available abroad. Astrill is the best I've tried by far, and I've had 4 now, including IPVanish (booo). Astrill has very, very fast servers in 50+ countries and nearly 100,000IP addresses I can use. I paid for a year, worked out to under 6$ a month, but you can pay quarterly as well, but it's around 10$ then. I guess the best example I can use is I'm currently downloading an "Awards copy", which they send to the Academy members for voting and such, of "The Martian", which just came out this last week, which I got from TorrentDay, and I'm pretty sure isn't available on free torrent sites (yet), at least I haven't found it. |

Huh good to know...maybe I will try the trial.
I used to be in an invite torrent site quite a while ago but not in years, it was definitely better. If you end up having another invite to give out let me know please!

I need to get in on something like this . Had to turn my Dish TV off just could not pay the bill and I love to catch up on the walking dead . I get three TV channels now on the antenna I put up , sucks .
